Ten Fashion Tips for Men

When it comes to dressing well, it can be the little things that make a big difference. By following one, or all of these tips, you can elevate your style. we share ten fashion tips for men to help you dress better.

Tucking in your shirt

Achieving a smooth and well-tailored appearance when tucking a shirt into trousers may seem like a simple task, but avoiding excess fabric bunching up around the waist can be quite challenging. However, a technique called the military tuck can help achieve the desired result. This method involves carefully gathering the excess fabric on either side of the waist and neatly tucking it into the waistband, effectively eliminating any bagginess. By employing the military tuck, a loose shirt can be made to look perfectly fitted beneath a blazer or jacket, creating a polished and sophisticated look.

Get rid of the belt

Contrary to popular belief, adding more accessories to an outfit does not equate to being stylish. Simplicity can exude a more relaxed and effortless vibe. One item that can be removed to achieve this look is the belt. As long as your trousers fit properly, there is no reason for them to fall down. It is important to keep in mind that less is often more when it comes to fashion.

Bring life back to your trainers

While white trainers are a popular fashion accessory for a casual outfit, they can get very dirty. Even if you can get the shoes white, the laces are often a different story. The answer is bleach. Soak them in bleach for whiter-than-white laces.

Roll up your sleeves

Elevating the casualness of a dressy outfit can be achieved by simply rolling up the sleeves of your shirt a few times. Yet, be cautious not to go too far and end up looking too casual. To master the art of sleeve rolling, keep it limited to no more than two turns, placing the sleeve’s ends in the sweet spot between your elbow and wrist. In essence, this styling tip creates a cool and relaxed look.

Use colour wisely

Incorporate neutral hues, including softer variations of blue, as the foundation of an outfit, and introduce vivid bursts of colour as a supplementary element. A prime illustration of this approach would be to pair a sports jacket in a muted blue shade with a light blue shirt and a white pocket square, which would ordinarily result in an uninspiring ensemble. However, incorporating an orange pocket square into the mix can infuse a tasteful vibrancy that uplifts the entire outfit.

Accessorise

Adding the finishing touches to an outfit can make all the difference. A watch, for example, has the ability to complete a look effortlessly. Omitting a pocket square from a sports jacket or cuff links from a French cuff shirt can leave an outfit feeling incomplete. Embrace the details that catch your eye and incorporate them into your personal style. As they say, the small things can make a big impact. And this rule holds true for fashion tips for men too.

Shave your sweater

To prolong the lifespan of your beloved sweater and maintain its aesthetic appeal, it is advisable to shave off the pilling. However, when performing this task, caution should be exercised to prevent injuries. Similar to shaving one’s face, using a fresh disposable razor is recommended instead of a straight razor. With the sweater laid out on a flat surface and held firmly with one hand, make short, swift strokes over the pills while being careful around the seams. It is essential to avoid exerting too much pressure during the process. Repeat this method until the sweater appears neat and free from any signs of wear and tear.

Travel light

To ensure that your suitcase is lighter, set aside the heaviest pair of shoes you plan to bring and wear for your flight. Doing so can help prevent unwanted creases in your other clothes. When packing, opt for lighter shoes and place them in the bottom of your luggage. Utilise a shoe bag to prevent any dirt or dust from getting on your clothes. By following these steps, your clothes will remain clean and fresh upon arrival at your hotel.

Straight-lace your dress shoes

Opting for straight lacing to tie your shoes is a more sophisticated and elegant approach. I highly recommend this technique, particularly when it comes to dress shoes. While cross-lacing does offer some additional support, it may come across as too casual or sporty for certain occasions. By choosing straight lacing, you can stand out from the crowd and showcase your impeccable sense of style. This easy-to-implement technique is among the top clothing hacks for men who pay attention to detail.

Shoes too tight?

Do you have shoes that don’t quite fit properly? Perhaps they feel too snug or have a tight spot that rubs uncomfortably as you walk. There is a simple hack you can try to alleviate the problem: use a blow dryer to loosen up your shoes! Start by putting on a pair of thick wool socks, then slip your feet into the shoes. Use the blow dryer to direct heat onto the tight spot for five to ten minutes. The heat, combined with the thickness of the wool socks, can help mold the shoes to the shape of your feet. Remember to use cedar shoe trees to keep your newly adjusted shoes in top shape.
